WHAT IS FAMILY MEDIATION?
The Family Mediation Council describes family mediation as a process in which an independent, professionally trained mediator helps you work out arrangements for your children and/or finances following separation.

Mediation can also be helpful when arrangements you've made before need to change, particularly as your children grow up.
​
Mediation helps you stay in control. The mediator will help you to find a solution that works for you both and will explain what needs to happen to make an agreement between you legally binding. Professional and dedicated family mediation is less stressful and significantly quicker than going to court and can save you money. Legal aid is also available if you are financially eligible.

MOJ VOUCHER SCHEME
Pax Mediation is authorised by the Family Mediation Council (FMC) to take part in the MOJ Voucher Scheme. This is a time-limited scheme, designed to support parties who may be able to resolve their family law disputes outside of court.
The Government has set up the scheme in response to COVID-19 to support recovery in the family court and to encourage more people to consider mediation as a means of resolving their disputes, where appropriate. To support this, a financial contribution of up to £500 towards the costs of mediation sessions will be provided to eligible cases.
